Devon - April/May 2007

Went down to Devon for Bank holiday weekeknd with Johnnie, Cathy and Oscar.
Lots of beach, sand castles, swimming, kayaking, walks, etc.

It was great. Looking forward to getting back down there again in a few weeks time, I think my kayak misses me....

Stoke beach

Stoke beach is the closest to the barn, about 5 mins away. Has a great rope swing and loads of rock pools.

Lunch at The Ship, Noss Mayo

After a busy day building sand castles, we all went down to The Ship, for some delicious grub.

More shots

Had the morning off work to go and visit Alfies new school. It was a lovely day and Ben had gone off with Barbara, so we got the camera out again...

Family Pictures

New camera, so took some pictures...

Crossing the Creek

Crossed the Creek early in the morning when the tide had gone out over to Newton Ferrers. Ben managed to step off the path and fall face down in the mud - it was bound to happen!

Map of the Local area

Found a lovely Barn conversion, south of Noss Mayo.

Less than a mile from Noss Mayo, an easy stumble back from the pub!

Posh 'n' Ben arrive

The local rock stars check out the sheep...

Paddling Horses

Had lunch on the terrace outside the Swan Inn.

A bunch of horses came down for a paddle and a trot through the water. Alfie and Ben found it very entertaining, almost as much as watching the cars get flooded when the tide came in.

Mothercombe Beach

Early Novemebr and paddlin in the sea at Mothercombe Beach. This is about 5 miles from Barbara's barn/house.

Beautiful weather all weekend, really warm. Alfie and Ben loved it on the beach. Clambering through rock pools, catching crabs etc. We all had great fun.

Stiched together a bunch of pictures to make up a 360 degree view at Mothercombe beach. Alfie thought this was great fun! Click to view bigger picture.

Noss Mayo and Newton ferrers

Went down to Devon for a long weekend.House hunting for Barbara, and checking out the area.

We stayed in the house on the left, just behind The Ship Inn. A great little pub. Had very nice soup overlooking the creek.

Richmond Terrace Gardens

Went over to Richmond on Sunday, lovely weather. Met up with Dan, Sara, Paul, Johnnie and Cathy, who had just been for a ride round the park. Caught up at the Roebuck, for a couple of nice drinks in the sunshine. Then back to Grannies for chinese roast chickens in plum sauce.
Yum.
